Product WishList

I am always on the lookout for the best products using the most effective actives… and so I put together a small wishlist of products I need to try out.

The first: Origins: Never A Dull Moment™

Skin brightening face cleanser with fruit extracts – £17 (150ml)

This cleanser contains Mangifera Indica (Mango) fruit extract & Carica Papaya (Papaya) fruit extract which are natural fruit acids commonly used in cosmetics for their exfoliative action on the skin. The two fruit extracts remove dead skin cells and help improve and brighten the overall appearance of the skin. Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Leaf Juice has also been added to the formulation to help soothe the skin, leaving it soft and supple.

Malin + Goetz: Acne Treatment – £16.50 (14.75ml)

I have read so many positive reviews about this product, and thought I would take a closer look at the ingredients and see if it was worth trying out. The formula contains sulfur which is a known anti-blemish active and works great when used in combination with salicylic acid (also found in the formulation). Zinc oxide another active helps prevent the formation of scars which may be caused from blemishes or picking at blemishes… as you do!!!. This company does make some shockingly strong claims about this product, almost making it sound like a medical treatment rather than a cosmetic product. Nevertheless it is one product I must try purely to see if it will live up to its claims.

Perricone MD: Face Finishing Moisturizer–  £54 (59ml)

Perricone MD is a brand I have wanted to try for ages… when it comes to a good serum or moisturizer it is the doctor, dermatologist or performance driven brands that I always go for.

The product contains three very effective ant-ageing actives: Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (Vitamin C Ester), Dimethyl MEA (DMAE) and Thioctic Acid also known as Alpha Lipoic Acid, which help to brighten, firm and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

An active which is not mentioned in the product marketing, but is found on the ingredient list, and I personally feel is a fantastic active to have in such a product-is:

L-Tyrosine- An amino-acid from which the pigment melanin is formed. This process is responsible for tanning your skin, when exposed to UV light. Now no need to get scared, your face won’t suddenly turn brown. This active is used at such a low level that  it will only create or develop a lovely, dewy & flawless finish and a bright & radiant complexion.

And finally last on my list is

Sarah Chapman : Instant Miracle Mask– £38 (4x 15g sachets)

This is a product I am super excited about….. Not long ago, at work I was introduced to the private label manufacturer of this new peel-off mask. They hold a library of bases and actives you can pick from and allows the brand to customize the mask in order to fit with their target market. I was so excited to find out that this is where the Sarah Chapman Instant Miracle Mask is formulated.

This mask is formulated using an alginate base which you have to mix with a specific amount of water, creating a smooth gel paste. Now the trick is that you only have 5/6 minutes to mix & apply the mask. If you accidentally add more water, or go past the 5/6 min recommended time the mask will not peel-off in on whole piece (as it should) but more in several pieces.

The Instant Miracle Mask by Sarah Chapman contains: hyaluronic acid for its moisturizing properties. Argania Spinosa Kernel Extract which is a protein from the argan fruit and used for its immediate skin tightening effect and long term anti-wrinkle activity. Moroccan lava clay helps clean, clarify and detoxify the skin and pores from any dirt and makeup. Sodium Ascorbate (Vitamin C) helps brighten your complexion and Rose Damascena Flower Oil is used to fragrance the product.

I cannot wait to add these 4 products to my skincare routine, and if anyone has tried the above products your thoughts on them are always welcome.
